We are excited to announce the 2022-2023 Virginia Beach schools who have received Pearl School recognition. These 60 schools incorporate environmental education projects and programs throughout the year and across their campuses. These projects and activities must add outdoor learning opportunities while also helping to improve water quality. Installing rain barrels, running a Scoop the Poop campaign, planting trees, cleaning up around the school, and sponsoring a Green Club are just a few of the ways schools incorporate green practices, while offering valuable learning opportunities and stewardship action projects to improve their schools and neighborhoods.
