On October 10th, 2015 Lynnhaven River Now is participating in the world’s largest volunteer effort to clean up our marine environment. Millions of people around the globe will be cleaning waterways and shorelines of debris and litter, protecting wild animals and their habitats, in addition to improving our own health and water quality.
“The International Coastal Cleanup is organized throughout the world by the Ocean Conservancy, and here in Virginia, it is organized by Clean Virginia Waterways of Longwood University” (CVW, 2015). Celebrating CVW’s 20th year of working for cleaner water, please join us in this effort on October 10th! The cleanup will be held here in Virginia Beach at Beach Garden Park, our newest Adopt-A-Program site, which requires a lot of volunteers on land and water- the more volunteers, the better!
