It has been almost two months now since we closed our offices, postponed and canceled our events, and transitioned to working remotely. We have incredibly creative and flexible staff members and volunteers and we have navigated that transition successfully. We launched our #AloneTogether social media program to reach out to our community and provide ideas and resources to engage your children, enjoy the outdoors, learn something new, and take action.
We are following the Governor’s guidelines. When we move to Phase I of opening (anticipated for May 15th), we will be able to restart our water quality monitoring program, schedule oyster castle building projects, and resume some other outdoor activities that can be done safely with six foot distancing and the use of face masks. When Phase II starts, even more activities may be able to be considered when proper protection for everyone. During Phase I and Phase II, we will continue to work remotely and keep our offices closed.
Nevertheless, we are working hard and hope that you will explore our new website, follow us on social media, and let us know how we can help you.
During this time of change, many of us have become even more aware of how much comfort and enjoyment we derive from the time we spend in nature. A walk on the beach; a hike in one of our natural areas; hearing the songbirds in the morning; or watching the sunset from your back porch can bring joy and comfort.
Most of all, we want everyone to be safe and stay healthy!
Thank you for your support!
